Today’s chart (eight boxes)

Pillar	Stem	Branch
Year	병 Byeong, yang Fire	오 O, Horse
Month	무 Mu, yang Earth	술 Sul, Dog
Day	임 Im, yang Water	술 Sul, Dog
Hour (자시 stand-in)	경 Gyeong, yang Metal	자 Ja, Rat

Hour rule: birth time unknown → 자시 (Ja hour, 23:00–01:00) is the stand-in so the 사주팔자 (saju palja, eight characters) can close. Year, month, and day are read hard from the civil date in Korea. Hour is read light.

Year 병오 (Byeong-O), month 무술 (Mu-Sul), day 임술 (Im-Sul), hour stand-in 경자 (Gyeong-Ja).

Plain-English portrait

Im-Sul (임술) is yang water on Dog, and the month is already Mu-Sul. Double dog: loyalty, suspicion, and a need to know who is in the house. Thursday can feel like a checkpoint. That is the day working. Do not treat a slow reply from Korea as a snub; treat it as a dog sniffing the gate. Send one clear packet, then wait.

The six letters fused

Water dog in an earth-dog month is wet earth — heavy, protective, not fast. Year fire-horse still wants a race. You will feel both. If you manage a team that includes Korean staff or a Korea office, today is for confirming who owns the weekend on-call, not for launching a new OKR. The chart is asking for a roster, not a vision.

Hour, held light

Ja-hour stand-in is Gyeong-Ja (경자): metal rat. A night blade on a dog day. Useful for one locked file; dangerous as a 3 a.m. loyalty test. Hour light.

What to watch today

• Name the person who can say no while you sleep. Dog days without a gatekeeper invent drama.
• Travelers sharing an Airbnb: write the checkout chores down. Double-dog months remember who left the kimchi brine.
• Do not forward a private chat “so everyone is aligned.” Water dog stores grudges in the screenshot.

Context

Read this as an eight-box calendar for one Korea civil day, not as a four-pillar fortune cookie and not as a command to change jobs, partners, or visas. The useful output is pacing: what kind of heat, earth, metal, or water the date is already running, so you do not fight the day with a plan that belongs to another pillar.
